Carrollton Elementary reported the enrollment of 418 Hispanic students for the 2024-25 year, an increase of 0.2% over the prior period, according to data from the Georgia Department of Education.
School records indicate that Carrollton Elementary enrolled a total of 1,672 students in 2024-25. Hispanic students comprised 25% of this population, representing the school’s third-largest demographic group.
Situated in the Carrollton City School District, the school’s central office is based in Carrollton.
Carrollton High School, also part of Carrollton City School District, reported the district’s highest count of Hispanic students in 2024-25, with 436 enrolled.
The National Center for Education Statistics reports that Georgia’s public school student body was about 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander.
Post-pandemic, chronic absenteeism continues to challenge Georgia schools, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024. In response, GaDOE introduced a comprehensive initiative featuring a real-time attendance dashboard, public awareness efforts, and specialized assistance to high-risk districts to strengthen attendance.
In 2025, state lawmakers changed school attendance rules to prevent expulsions solely for absenteeism and added expanded reporting obligations as well as support for alternative diploma pathways.
As of 2026, Georgia’s public schools averaged a student-to-teacher ratio of about 14:1, better than the nationwide average of 15:1.
