The University of West Georgia reported an 8.9% reduction in in-state tuition fees for the 2022-23 school year, based on recent disclosures, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.
Georgia residents paid $5,941 to attend the four-year public university this year, a decrease of $580 from the $6,521 charged during the 2021-22 academic year.
Non-resident students were charged $16,996 in tuition for the 2022-23 year, which is 186.1% higher than the in-state rate. This amount reflects a 3.3% decrease from the $17,576 tuition fee in 2021-22.
Approximately 95% of the undergraduate student body at the university are Georgia residents, while about 2% come from other states and 1% are international students.
Data indicates that 93% of full-time undergraduates who began studies at the University of West Georgia in 2022-23 received some form of financial aid. A total of 1,210 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $9.8 million, and 592 students obtained loans exceeding $3.5 million.
Across all undergraduates, 6,149 students benefited from grants or scholarships totaling $43.3 million. Additionally, 3,460 students took out federal student loans totaling $20.8 million.
