Congressman Brian Jack and U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright visited Spalding County to mark the repeal of a regulation that threatened a local manufacturing facility. The bipartisan effort led by Congressman Jack countered a Biden Administration rule that would have prohibited non-condensing tankless water heaters produced by Rinnai America Corporation, which employs over 200 workers.
House Joint Resolution 20, led by Jack, passed in the U.S. House of Representatives with a vote of 221-198, supported by 210 Republicans and 11 Democrats. The U.S. Senate approved the legislation with a 53-44 majority, allowing the repeal to move forward.
Rinnai President Frank Windsor expressed gratitude for Jack’s initiative, stating, “We cannot thank Congressman Jack enough for his engagement in bringing this terrible rule to the attention of the DOE. He helped preserve over 200 jobs and substantial investment in our two-year-old factory in Griffin, Georgia. He made it happen.”
The visit included remarks from Wright and Jack to approximately 500 attendees, including plant workers and community leaders. The officials also toured the facility and joined workers for lunch.
This event marked the second recent visit by a Trump Cabinet member to Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District. Congressman Jack previously hosted U.S. Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler on a tour and discussion in LaGrange.
