In the 2024-25 school year, Arnall Middle School had seven American Indian or Alaska Native students enrolled, matching the count from the prior year, reports the Georgia Department of Education.

Total enrollment at Arnall Middle School reached 746 for the 2024-25 school year. American Indian or Alaska Native students represented 1% of the student population, the smallest demographic group reported at the school.

The school is part of Coweta County School District, which has its main office in Newnan.

Within Coweta County School District, which includes 29 schools, Newnan Crossing Elementary School had the largest number of American Indian or Alaska Native students in the 2024-25 school year, enrolling eight students.

According to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report, more than 1.7 million students were enrolled in Georgia’s public schools. The majority attended elementary grades, totaling 787,206 students (45.9%), with middle school enrollment at 388,733 students (22.7%) and high school enrollment at 539,092 students (31.4%).

Chronic absenteeism continues to be a significant challenge in Georgia following the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, according to the Georgia Department of Education. GaDOE has implemented a statewide initiative featuring a real-time attendance dashboard, a public awareness campaign, and targeted interventions for districts most in need to help improve daily attendance rates.

In 2025, Georgia legislators approved updates to attendance laws, now prohibiting schools from expelling students only for absenteeism. The revised law also introduces additional reporting guidelines and matches with programs designed to give students alternate pathways to a diploma.

By 2026, the average student-to-teacher ratio in Georgia was approximately 14:1, which outperformed the national average of 15:1.
