Webinar Overview
“I don’t/didn’t know what to do; where to go next.” How many times have you heard this or thought this from feeling stuck with a client? The field of psychology has theories for understanding and conceptualizing human behavior. These models are often adopted and applied to the practice of therapy. However, few practitioners have a solid foundation of a counseling process model. Through the review of the person-centered model of supervision, this workshop presents a counseling model, providing practical ways to assist supervisees in the conceptualization of the therapeutic process.
This webinar is for supervisors and practitioners of all levels. Attendees will gain an increased understanding of the importance of an evidenced-based counseling process model for improved supervisee monitoring, and effective, quality care.
Objectives
- Provide an overview of the person-centered supervision model.
- Provide increased understanding of a counseling process model by applying the person-centered supervision approach through a review of the model as a way of guiding supervisees (and ourselves) in understanding therapeutic process in their work with clients.
- Learn how to apply the model with practical tips for better monitoring, achievement of supervision goals (such as increased self-awareness, self-reflection, confidence, competence, and understanding of the therapeutic process and progress), conceptualization of process, and practice for improved client quality care and outcomes.
