Carroll County - GA issued the following announcement on August 16.
After a brave fight, Carroll County is saddened to say that Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Tommy Hopson lost his battle with COVID last evening. In his honor, Chairman Michelle Morgan has requested all county flags be lowered to half-staff this week, effective immediate. They will return to full-staff on Friday, August 20th.
