Tallapoosa Informational Notes From May 16th Council Meeting

City of Tallapoosa recently issued the following announcement.

The following is a summary of key action items taken by Mayor and the Council at the city council meeting held on May 16, 2022. The meeting was held at City Hall, at 25 East Alabama Street, Tallapoosa.

  • Approved the minutes, financials and invoices over $300.
  • Approved plats presented for properties owned by Karen Steed and Joseph Johnson.
  • Approved the additional rooms for special guests for the annual Georgia Municipal Association Conference.
  • Approved applying for the Rural Zone Designation with the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and any subsequent grants associated with that designation.
City Council member Raymond Ballew (Post #2) recently received a certificate of recognition from the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute, a partnership program between the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and UGA’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. Council member Ballew was presented with the certificate at the City Council Meeting on Monday, May 16.
