Southwire has announced plans to construct a new 1.2 million square foot distribution center in Bremen, Georgia. This facility is part of the company's long-term modernization strategy aimed at enhancing customer experience.

The new distribution center will serve as a centralized hub for Southwire's operations in West Georgia, consolidating activities from three existing sites in Villa Rica, Georgia. It will cater to both internal and external customers across the organization.

This development is a result of Southwire's collaboration with local entities, including Carroll County, Haralson County, and the City of Bremen. The project follows the opening of another major distribution center in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas last year.

Rich Stinson, president and CEO of Southwire, stated: “This new distribution center is the next exciting step in both our continuous effort to improve our customer experience and our investment in modernization across the organization. The new facility will help Southwire continue to stand out as a leader in the industry while serving as a reflection of our promise to provide our customers with world-class service.”

Norman Adkins, president and chief operating officer of Southwire, expressed enthusiasm about expanding in the region where Southwire was founded: “We are excited to continue our growth in the region where Southwire was founded. This is an exciting opportunity as we have the advantage of leveraging the strengths of our current team to power our operations while enhancing the experience for our Southwire team members and our customers.”

Aaron Asher, senior vice president of customer experience at Southwire, highlighted improvements expected from this expansion: “I am eager to share this news on the heels of the success of our newest distribution center in DFW. We are excited to bring this scale of operation to West Ga., allowing for improvements in fill rates and on-time in-full deliveries for our customers.”

Local leaders also shared their perspectives on this development. Sharon Sewell, mayor of Bremen, noted: “This project represents a tremendous opportunity for our city. Not only does it have the potential to create jobs and boost our local economy but it also exemplifies the power of what we can achieve when businesses and communities come together."

Michelle Morgan, chairman of Carroll County Board of Commissioners said: “I am truly proud to witness Southwire’s continued investment in our community with the construction of this state-of-the-art distribution center."

Tim Grizzard from 20-27 Corridor Joint Development Authority commented on regional cooperation: “We are excited to hear of Southwire’s continued expansion in the West Georgia area... It is an honor for the Joint Development Authority to be a part of the continued economic growth of the community.”

The facility is expected to be completed by late 2026.
