58 percent of applicants to the University of West Georgia were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of West Georgia, 90 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 63 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Carrollton enrolled 13,733 students in fall 2018, including 11,135 in undergraduate and 2,598 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

96 percent of undergraduates are residents of Georgia, and 1 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (47 percent) and Black or African American (37 percent).

The school admitted 58 percent of the 8,154 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 48 percent enrolled.
