Heard County School District welcomed 2,075 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 2,075 students enrolled in Heard County School District in the 2022-23 school year, 2.1% more than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52% of them were male, and 48% were female.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 83% of the Heard County School District's total enrollment.

Heard County School District roughly covers five schools within Heard County and has a main office in Franklin.

Among the five schools in Heard County School District, Heard Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 628 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Chronic absenteeism in Georgia has declined from its 2022 peak of 25%, but it still remains above pre-pandemic levels (11.8%). In 2024, about 20.7% of all students in the state missed 10% or more of their classes.
