Enrollment at Meriwether County School District decreased by 1.3% compared to previous school year

There were 2,169 students enrolled in Meriwether County School District in the 2022-23 school year, 1.3% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were male, and 49% were female.

Data also shows that most of the students were Black, representing 56% of the Meriwether County School District's total enrollment.

Meriwether County School District roughly covers six schools within Meriwether County and has a main office in Greenville.

Among the six schools in Meriwether County School District, Mountain View Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 654 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Chronic absenteeism in Georgia has declined from its 2022 peak of 25%, but it still remains above pre-pandemic levels (11.8%). In 2024, about 20.7% of all students in the state missed 10% or more of their classes.
